Outdoor concrete needs a different product to indoor concrete. Sun, rain, frost and thermal movement will find a system that wasn't specified for them — usually within the first summer.
The two things that kill an outdoor coating are UV and water. A standard indoor epoxy ambers and chalks in direct sun; a coating that doesn't shed water traps it against the slab. Outdoor systems are chosen to handle both.
Often matched to the garage floor inside.
Slip-resistant finishes for wet, barefoot traffic.
Textured coatings where the gradient matters.
Specified for vehicle loads as well as weather.
Flake blends, solid colours and clear-sealed finishes. See the six blends we lay most on an actual floor, or open the full range and zoom right in.
Not a UV-stable one, which is what outdoor areas get. A standard indoor epoxy will — which is exactly why we don't use one outside.
Not with the right texture. Outdoor systems are specified slip-resistant as standard, and we can take that further for pool surrounds and steps.
It depends on the system, the area and the weather on the day. You get the actual figures for your job in writing with the quote.
