Standard epoxy can be slippery when it's wet. Where the floor gets wet, greasy or steep, the system needs to be specified for grip from the start — not sprinkled on at the end and hoped for.
Anti-slip is a spectrum, not a switch. A commercial kitchen, a loading ramp and a pool surround all need different levels of texture, and too much grip is its own problem — it stops being cleanable. We match the aggregate and the topcoat to how the floor actually gets used.

Often, yes — if the existing coating is sound and well bonded. If it is already lifting, anything added on top lifts with it. We'll tell you which one you've got.
It shouldn't. Over-specifying the aggregate is the usual cause — we grade it to the area so a mop still gets through it.
